Overview
Devil May Cry 4 is a Hack and slash action RPG Game in which we take on the role of Nero who is a devil hunter. As the story plays out it is revealed that Nero is a descendent of sparda who was hailed as one of the most powerful demon of his time. Since Nero has also inherited his blood of Sparda he posses a demonic soul which can be unleashed at his beckoning. Under the orders of the organization he is ordered to hunt down a Man in red.As the story progresses he finds that the organization of which he is a part of is up-to something. He begins his investigation and finds a huge conspiracy going on behind his back.
Plot
Nero is a young man who despite having a clear lack of faith , he lives with The Order of the Sword, a sect of holy knights who are responsible for protecting humans, yet they worship the demon Sparda as their God, in a castle-town of Fortuna on a mysterious island which was isolated from the rest of the world. Their leader, is the High Priest Sanctus, who leads the organization as their benevolent and ideal spiritual leader. Nero was a baby who was abandoned at a very young age, He was take in by the order of the swords .Nero was sent to live with Credo, who was serving as the Captain of the Holy Knights, who raised Nero to fight demons alongside with his younger sister Kyrie, whom Nero eventually develops feelings for. Though Nero does not believe in The Order’s worship of Sparda, and openly shows his defiance, still he truly believes in protecting the innocent. At the beginning of the game’s events, Sanctus is giving a sermon to the packed Opera House during the Festival of the Sword celebration, when suddenly, Dante himself crashes through the roof above, and murders Sanctus in full view of the audience plunging the Opera House into chaos. As Nero fights Dante, Credo leads Kyrie and the others to safety, whereupon Nero is shocked to discover a latent demonic power in himself, which transforms his entire arm. From there on, Dante recognizes that Nero is "different from the others" which signifies his relation to sparda as his power was comparable to that of Dante. Initially presented as the primary antagonist who he must capture, Nero’s encounters with Dante over the course of the game reveal that the Order of the Sword is in fact responsible for a number of atrocities.
Gameplay
Devil may cry 4 is mostly hack and slash in which the player must fight through levels depicted as missions, which occasionally involves solving puzzles or gathering items in order to increase the characters health or skills.at the end of all missions Performance in a mission is graded from D till SSS being the best score. Calculations of the Grades are based on the Items used, Red Orbs gathered, time taken, and the amount of Style Points gathered during that mission. Each Style Point grade has its own tag-word. Stylish and elegant combat is the main focus of the game, which is achieved through unbroken combos of varied attacks while avoiding damage from the demons. The player must avoid enemy attacks to continue performing combos, often by memorizing attack patterns. The Devil Trigger is a super state that which makes player to become more powerful and adding a steady health regeneration, during it the appearance of our character changes with a wild appearance covered with demonic energy. Devil Trigger can be activated by pressing the button to trigger it but it can only be triggered when the minimum amount on the gauge is filled. During the missions after 10 Dante performing one of his signatures moves, named Stinger, Some changes introduced into Devil May Cry 4 are the presence of two playable characters, Dante and Nero, and a little modification to the shop system, a new currency, Proud Souls has been added which is used to buy new abilities while Red Orbs are used to buy items. Proud Souls are rewarded at the end of missions and the amount varies depending upon your Rank achieved at the completion of the mission which is based on how well the player performed. Cost of abilities will also increase with the purchase of other abilities, though all abilities can be sold back at the original price. The player plays as Nero throughout most of the game. He is equipped with a sword named Red Queen sword and Blue Rose revolver, and the powers of his Devil Bringer. The Red Queen is unique as it features an Exceed Gauge that can be charged up, allowing for subsequent attacks that are more powerful than regular slashes till the gauge empties. Nero also possess the powers of his Devil Bringer, and can use it to pull himself towards enemies or vice versa. The Devil Bringer may also be used for context-sensitive throw attacks, leading to high damage. Nero eventually gains the ability to use Devil Trigger after getting the katana known as Yamato, which increases his Devil Bringer's power, thus changing his Devil Bringer attacks into more powerful ones. Dante as in the last series carries a sword named rebellion .Dante can switch between different weapons which he acquired by eliminating many demons. His devil trigger increases his speed and savage force which gives him damage advantage over Nero done through rebellion.
