Overview
Freedom Fighter is a third person shooter developed by IO Interactive and Published by EA Games. Its story is set back during the time when soviet union had infiltrated New York, our player takes the role of a plumber who joins the resistance movement in order to fight them and begins leading the movement as their leader. But their is more to this conspiracy than that meets the eye rest is for you to find out who are your allies and who are your enemies.
Back when development began on Freedom Fighters, it was a very different game. Initially the game was unveiled as "Freedom: The Battle for Liberty Island," and was meant to have hybrid action combat split between a turn-based strategic mode and a third-person shooter mode. Presumably because of Hitman and Hitman 2's massive popularity, at some point that turn-based mode was implemented directly into the shooter gameplay instead with the game's squad system. This system was one of the many ways that Freedom Fighters was incredibly unique at the time.
In the parallel reality where Freedom Fighters is set, Russia "wins" World War II and rises to power. Players take control of Chris Stone, a less well-known video game plumber, as he attempts to repair the plumbing at the residence of a well-known American revolutionary. Then, when a Russian invading force invades New York, Chris joins the titular revolutionaries in their quest to retake America from the Soviet Union. The game takes place over a period of many months as the revolution gains momentum and the Russians are driven out of New York.
Plot
The Soviet Union became a world superpower by dropping the atomic bomb on Berlin thus ending World War II and started propping up communist states throughout the globe which in turn begin to surround the US in the present day. Two brothers Chris and Troy were traveling to meet with their client, an activist named Isabella Angelina, only to find her apartment empty. The Soviet Union launches suddenly launched a surprise invasion on New York City. The Soviet Soldiers, Led by General Tatarin. He took Troy with him for further Interrogation, amidst the attack, Chris escapes into the streets after rescuing a man named Mr. Jones and resistance fighter Phil Bagzton. After rescuing Isabella from a police station and Troy from a post office, the group retreats to the sewers and sets up a base of operations as New York is lost, with the media now being controlled by the Soviet Union. Now Chris is determined to take back New York by fighting against the Soviet Army.
Gameplay
Freedom fighter is a third person game which navigate through new York, one can also gain charisma points by healing wounded civilians or resistance soldiers. Depending upon your collected charisma points you can order around a few resistance soldiers with maximum of 12, If you are new to this genre than it is the best game for you as we can set the difficulty.
